Cars And Such

Saturday the Central Ohio Vintage Volkswagen Club put on their annual Volksfest show, and Teri and I went. This is the second time I've been, and the weather was so much more comfortable this year than it was the first time. That might have something to do with the August scheduling. It was cool to see all the old restored VWs and some of the newer ones that I recognized from other VW actvities. What I liked most about the outing though was that Teri was enjoying herself and that she made the comment that she likes seeing me excited about something even if it isn't something she'd be interested in on her own. How cool is that? Some guys have to beg and plead to be allowed to go to a car function on their own. My girlfriend not only is happy to let me go but she likes going with me!

Since Teri is a fan of orange, it seemed only natural that there should be a picture taken of her in front of the metallic orange dune buggy that was there. Something tells me that she would have been right at home driving that vehicle back to her place.

In addition to Volksfest, we also ventured out to Casa de Kludy for a movie night on Friday where we watched all 99" of The Prestige in their home theater in their basement and I enjoyed a can of wine. There was also a good deal of Olympics watching this past weekend too. I did actually enjoy watching the gymnastics too...for much the same reason Teri enjoyed looking at cars. She was a gymnast for 6 years when she was a kid. It's the first time I've watched gymnastics with someone who actually participated at one point. It was also fun to see the Phelpedo continue his dominance in the pool.

Going back to work after spending a weekend with Teri is such a let down.

Yes. A can of Australian white wine.

Good times. Liesel, Liea, my mom and I all went down to Brice Road to watch the Mopars cruise (Mopar Nationals was also this weekend). There was a pretty low turnout of vehicles, but I discovered something cool: Liea is soothed to sleep by the rumble of large displacement V8s. This is a good sign! Although, she clearly does NOT like the smell of vaporized tire after long burnouts.
